Job Details: Job Description: The Role and Impact As a Senior CPU Circuit Design Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in designing and developing custom digital circuits for CPUs, including memory. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize power, performance, area, timing, and yield goals, while ensuring the functionality and reliability of CPU circuits. Your expertise will directly contribute to the creation of cutting-edge processors that shape Intel's technological leadership. Business Group The Silicon and Platform Engineering Group (SPE) drives Intel's innovation in silicon technologies, enabling advancements in CPU performance, power efficiency, and scalability. As part of this group, you will join a collaborative team dedicated to developing world-class CPUs that address the needs of diverse computing markets and support Intel's broader mission of technological excellence. Key Responsibilities: • Design custom digital circuits for CPU blocks, including memory, with a focus on optimizing power, performance, area, timing, and yield. • Develop and verify circuit designs through schematic entry, simulation, and functional validation. • Conduct comprehensive design verification using industry-standard methodologies, including timing analysis, noise analysis, and layout rule checks. • Apply advanced CMOS technology and physical layout techniques to achieve robust and efficient designs. • Enhance and automate design flows and methodologies for streamlined circuit design processes. • Characterize memory instances and memory compilers, driving improvements in performance, power efficiency, and area reduction. • Collaborate with CPU architecture and layout teams to ensure circuits meet functional and electrical capabilities. • Collaborate across teams to ensure functional and technical alignment throughout the design process. Qualifications: Minimum Qualifications: • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field with 5+ years of hands-on experience in custom circuit design OR a Master's degree in a relevant field with 4+ years of experience OR a PhD with no prior professional experience. • Proficiency with industry-standard EDA tools for circuit design and verification. • Experience in circuit simulation, timing analysis, noise analysis, and reliability evaluations. • Strong understanding of advanced CMOS technology and physical layout techniques. • Solid understanding of power optimization, timing analysis, and design for manufacturability principles. Preferred Qualifications: • Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and communicate technical concepts clearly. • Strong analytical skills with a focus on solving complex design challenges. • Interest in driving innovation and contributing to Intel's leadership in semiconductor technology.
