US H-1B: cap-subject employers enter a lottery weighted by wage level — Level I gets 1 entry, Level IV gets 4 (DHS projected selection odds ≈15% at Level I to ≈61% at Level IV). Universities and non-profit research employers are cap-exempt. The $100,000 fee for new petitions from abroad is currently blocked by a court order (appeal pending).

Why this role is on the menu
Instacart's Commercial Insights team supports retail partners that represent roughly 20% of company GMV, including Walmart US and Canada, Sam's Club, Dollar General, Loblaws, Whole Foods, and 60 New Verticals accounts. Current priorities include Loblaw price parity, Walmart US expansion, the Dollar General launch, and recurring business reviews that shape sales strategy and forecasting. Covering this scope takes dedicated analytics ownership, and it cannot be absorbed without pulling capacity from other accounts. We're hiring an Insights Manager II to own the analytics for a set of these accounts and turn data into decisions that grow our retail partnerships.
What you'll cook up in your first year
• Retailer wins backed by your analysis, such as price parity gains and retailer launches, that account teams and retailers credit to your work.
• Quantitative business cases that secure more marketing dollars or product resources for the accounts you support.
• AI built into your workflows and previously manual reporting automated, with measurable time saved for the team.
• Key contributions to team projects such as affordability collateral and anomaly tracking.
• Stretch: recognition as a trusted voice with VP and CRD leaders internally and VP and SVP counterparts at retailers, with a visible influence on account strategy.
The secret ingredients we're looking for
You pair technical depth with business judgment. You are as comfortable writing complex SQL and building detailed models as you are presenting a recommendation to senior leaders at Instacart and at our retail partners. You're curious, you take ownership of ambiguous problems, and you're quick to bring AI into how you work. Candidates typically bring around five years of relevant experience. About 80% of your time goes to retailer work (ad hoc analysis, reporting, business reviews, and specific projects) and 20% to internal team work such as scalable analytics. Travel is limited, about 10 to 15%.
Must-have pantry staples (Minimum Qualifications)
• Strong SQL skills, including writing complex queries to pull and analyze data
• Strong presentation and communication skills, with experience presenting to senior internal and external stakeholders
• Intellectual curiosity and a drive to get to the root cause of a problem
• Hands-on AI experience and knowledge, including applying AI tools to analytical workflows
Optional garnishes (Preferred Qualifications)
• Deeper technical experience, such as detailed modeling and dashboarding
• Experience at a technology company
• Experience in consulting or finance
