About the role
This is an in-office position, where you are expected to be in the office 5 days a week, from 9:00am - 5:00pm, with 2 days a month remote.
Mercury is looking for a Workplace Experience Specialist to bring our culture to life in our New York office through the operations of daily life in the space. This role owns the day-to-day office experience for our NYC team, ensuring that the environment people walk into each day reflects Mercury's thoughtful approach to design, quality, and connection. Our offices are where teams build relationships, solve difficult problems together, and experience the culture that makes working here meaningful.
In addition to running the daily experience, this role will support the cultural moments that punctuate the year: monthly office events, onsites hosted in NYC, and annual celebrations. You'll join a team that creates thoughtful, memorable moments for our employees with the same care we put into our products, and you'll partner closely with the broader People team, IT, and Finance on the larger operational pieces. Because our team is lean, your impact will be immediate — you'll set the tone for how Mercury's New York hub feels to the people in it.
What You'll Do
• Serve as the on-site presence and cultural ambassador for the NYC office every day, welcoming employees, guests, candidates, and visiting teammates.
• Own the daily operations of the space — lunch, kitchen, supply stocking, incoming/outgoing mail and deliveries, and visitor management — acting as the first point of contact for office questions and requests, resolving what you can and escalating what needs a broader fix.
• Keep the office beautiful, organized, and aligned with Mercury’s aesthetic.
• Shape a distinct in-office culture by listening to employee feedback and thoughtfully balancing individual requests with team needs, resources, and the overall workplace experience.
• Own monthly office events from concept through execution, building a program of gatherings that reflects Mercury’s culture and draws the local team in.
• Manage relationships with onsite vendors (cleaning, catering, snacks, plants, building maintenance) and track facilities and building requests to resolution, operating within your office budget.
• Set up desks, meeting rooms, and AV for new hires, guests, and visiting teams, and own the basics of office access and safety (badges, visitor sign-in, emergency procedures).
• Support the planning and execution of onsites and company events hosted in the NYC space, as well as broader employee experience initiatives — from All Hands and virtual events to merch production and cultural programs.
• Identify and lead improvements to office spaces, systems, and services to meet the evolving needs of a growing team.
• Communicate office updates, event invitations, and reminders clearly to the local team.

• Clear, friendly written communication across Slack, email, and signage.
• A collaborative team player who proactively asks for and acts on feedback, and pitches in on team activities beyond your core responsibilities when the opportunity comes up.
