By integrating a vast catalog of components with a world-class digital manufacturing platform, MISUMI Americas empowers engineers and procurement teams to accelerate innovation across the entire product lifecycle. With operations in the San Francisco Bay Area and Chicago, the company serves as a vital partner for the most innovative companies in the Americas. Impact In This Role CNC is the largest business in MISUMI Americas’ custom manufacturing portfolio, and turning is one of its fastest-growing processes. The Portfolio Manager, Lathe / Turning owns the business development and growth strategy for Fictiv’s turning offering — CNC lathe production turning and Swiss-type (sliding-headstock) machining — within the broader CNC line of business. This role is accountable for turning current momentum into a scaled, profitable line of business: finding and winning new turning demand, shaping how we position and sell turned parts, and following production programs through to on-time delivery. Success means profitable growth in turning bookings and margin, a stronger pipeline of turning production programs, and close, flexible collaboration across Sales, Marketing, Solution Engineering, Program Management, and regional teams — this is a highly cross-functional role, not a formal chain-of-command one. Areas of Responsibility • Own the business development strategy and growth plan for the lathe/turning line of business, setting bookings and transaction-margin targets aligned to the CNC organization’s growth goals. • Identify and pursue new turning demand — prototype through production — partnering with Sales and Marketing to target the customer segments where turning growth is concentrated (Product Innovation accounts, Machine Builders, and MRO). • Use demand, quoting, and win/loss data to find where turning is under-served, mis-positioned, or losing to competitors, and turn those findings into concrete growth actions. • Serve as the internal subject-matter reference for turning and Swiss-type machining (DFM, tolerancing, workholding, threading, secondary operations, material machinability). • Support production-turning pursuits end to end: scope requirements, validate feasibility, and track production programs against their schedules. • Establish and report turning metrics (bookings growth, transaction margin, quote-to-order conversion, autoquote coverage, on-time delivery). • Work in a highly collaborative, flexible team structure, without relying on formal reporting lines, to move quickly on opportunities. • All employees are expected to maintain and contribute to the QMS. Desired Traits • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Industrial), Operations Management, or related field — or equivalent hands-on experience. • 5+ years of experience in CNC turning, with meaningful exposure to business development, commercial strategy, or growth ownership. • Direct working knowledge of CNC lathe and Swiss-type turning technologies. • Familiarity with production program management. Strong commercial/business-development instincts. • Comfortable operating in a flexible, matr
