As the Maintenance Technician, HVACR IV, you’ll have the chance to keep the heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration systems running that our laboratories and controlled environments depend on. You’ll install, service, repair, and troubleshoot equipment ranging from large commercial HVAC systems to multi-zone systems with direct digital controls and rack refrigeration, while helping train the next generation of technicians. What You’ll Work On • Install, maintain, operate, and repair HVAC, refrigeration, and boiler systems and associated equipment, including preventive maintenance, evaporator troubleshooting and defrost, and system diagnostics. Track maintenance performance to keep systems available. • Review drawings, schematics, and mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) plans, and work with engineering and scientific personnel on modifications and user needs. Lead installations that require control programming and a link to the building automation system. • Respond to service calls, critical alarms, and utility outages, including restoration after weather-related events, and take part in the on-call program for a 24-hour operation. • Monitor and maintain electrical, mechanical, and plumbing systems, or coordinate contractors and the landlord. Conduct building inspections, document findings, and ensure contractors follow environment, health, and safety (EHS) policies, including hot work and lockout/tagout. • Complete accurate good manufacturing practice (GMP) documentation as required by the quality management system (QMS), follow SOPs, and maintain compliance with GMP, OSHA, FDA, WDATCP, and USDA standards.
