Software Engineer II - XMD Why We Have This Role Qualtrics is seeking a Software Engineer II to join our XM Directory (XMD) Engineering team in our Seattle office. If you have a Bachelor’s degree, have 2+ years of software engineering experience, and want to work at a fast-growing tech company, Qualtrics could be the place you’ve been dreaming about. You should love building simple solutions to solve hard customer problems and designing systems in an agile environment to withstand hyper growth. How You’ll Find Success • Ability to create trust in customers and teams through thorough communication • Strong level of curiosity • Takes initiative and shows scrappiness in getting things done, and asks for help early when blocked • Proven ability to work well in teams - partnering with managers, cross-functional teams, and teammates • Takes an analytical mindset to approach problems and find solutions • Shows a desire to learn new skills and grow in the role How You’ll Grow • Deepen your skills in building scalable, fast, robust, and simple SaaS solutions • Expand your experience with distributed systems, containerization, and databases • Grow from owning components to contributing to larger technical designs • Learn from senior engineers, tech-ops, and product managers • Take on mentoring opportunities with new teammates and interns Things You’ll Do • Build scalable, reliable backend services and web interfaces to solve customer problems • Implement new features and optimize existing ones to improve performance • Own well-scoped features and components, from design through delivery • Work with senior engineers to clarify requirements and contribute to technical designs • Use AI-assisted tools to move faster, and take responsibility for the correctness, security, and performance of what you ship • Write well-tested code, and give and receive feedback in code reviews • Work with product, design, and other XMD teams, and join daily stand-ups to deliver value to customers • Share what you learn and help improve engineering practices on your team What We’re Looking For On Your Resume • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field • 2+ years working in a software engineering position (full-stack or backend) • Solid algorithms, data structures, and coding fundamentals • Has worked with design and product teams to understand needs and turn them into end-user features • Has contributed to scalable, fast, robust web-based solutions that solve complex business problems • Exposure to web infrastructure and distributed systems • Experience with continuous delivery, git, test automation, and build/deploy systems What You Should Know About This Team E
