US H-1B: cap-subject employers enter a lottery weighted by wage level — Level I gets 1 entry, Level IV gets 4 (DHS projected selection odds ≈15% at Level I to ≈61% at Level IV). About the role

About the Team OpenAI didn’t begin as a traditional company. It began as an idea: that artificial intelligence could be developed in a way that benefits everyone. As a creative team, our role is to help make sure the work behind that idea is understood, as it leaves the lab and meets the world. This company works at the frontier of intelligence. Like any frontier, it’s unfinished, constantly shifting, and still being explored. Our job is to stay close to that uncertainty and help shape how this story gets told, in a way that feels grounded and human. We do this through campaigns, launches, films, brand systems, and work that doesn’t fit neatly into any of those categories yet. This team is for people who want to help shape something from the beginning. Experiments make expression, introspective, optimistic, thoughtful, and impactful things with frontier models. Continuing to experiment while pushing the spectrum of what the voice and stories we tell. We bring creative and technical collaborators together to explore what these models make possible through prototypes, interactive experiences, physical objects, and stories that invite people to participate, reflect, and imagine. About the Opportunity We’re looking for a Creative, Experiments to help develop and make original work for the Experiments program. You’ll contribute to a distinctive body of work with frontier models, finding ideas that connect new capabilities with human curiosity, humor, and everyday life. You’re a creative thinker and a hands-on maker who moves comfortably between storytelling, design, and technology. You can turn an open-ended question into a compelling concept, build a working prototype with creative and technical partners, and carry an idea through iteration and delivery. You’ll contribute ideas to the program’s creative agenda, identify opportunities worth exploring, and work with creative and technical partners to make them real. Working closely with the Experiments Team, you’ll help explore new possibilities for Research Design. The work may take the form of digital experiences, physical installations, playful objects, films, or formats we have yet to discover. Each experiment should have a clear idea, thoughtful execution, and a reason to matter to its audience. This role is based in the US and partners closely with OpenAI’s Creative, Research, Product, Engineering, and Communications teams, alongside external makers and production partners. In this role, you will: - Contribute to the Experiments program’s slate of ideas, owning individual projects from initial exploration through public release in partnership with creative leads - Develop original concepts that use frontier models to make work with humor, emotional depth, optimism, and meaningful impact - Prototype early and often, working hands-on and with creative technologists to test interactions, explore model behavior, and refine the idea - Collaborate across design, storytelling, engineering, and production to create digital and physical experiences with strong craft and a clear point of view - Build relationships with internal teams and external makers, coordinate project needs, and use audience response and project learnings to inform the next experiment You might thrive in this role if you: - Have 8+ years of relevant experience - Bring a portfolio of original experiments, experiences, or creative projects that shows your role in developing ideas, collaborating across disciplines, and making the work - Combine conceptual thinking, experience design, and storytelling with curiosity about technology and a strong sense of humor, culture, and human behavior - Are a resourceful maker who explores frontier models and emerging tools through practical experimentation
