The Role
We are looking for a Senior Quality Engineer to help shape high-quality vehicles from early development through validation, launch, and field performance. This role is ideal for an engineer who combines customer focus, technical problem solving, data analysis, and the ability to influence cross-functional teams.
You will lead quality across vehicle development programs, turning customer needs and quality data into clear product priorities. You will help ensure that design decisions, validation activities, manufacturing processes, and launch plans deliver robust products and an excellent customer experience.
The role offers an end-to-end view of the product and the opportunity to work across Engineering, Manufacturing, Suppliers, Program Management, Services, Finance and other business partners.
What you’ll do
• Own the vehicle program quality plan, including customer, initial quality, long-term quality, and design quality objectives.
• Establish quality and warranty targets early in the vehicle development process and align teams on timing, ownership, evidence, and risk.
• Lead cross-functional product quality readiness reviews to confirm that critical product, design, validation, and launch deliverables are complete and on track.
• Use customer feedback, warranty information, field performance, test results, connected-vehicle data, plant information, and other sources to identify risks and improve product decisions.
• Manage test-fleet issues and ensure they are resolved before they affect launch readiness or customer experience.
• Lead priority product and customer issues from problem definition through containment, root cause, corrective action, verification, and sustained closure.
• Apply structured problem-solving methods such as Design for Six Sigma, Red X, DMAIC, and FMEA.
• Influence Engineering, Manufacturing, and Suppliers to implement design and process improvements that prevent recurrence.
• Monitor quality performance, action effectiveness, warranty cost trends, and launch risks; communicate clear recommendations to leadership.
• Use dashboards, artificial intelligence-enabled insights, and advanced analytics to improve risk detection and decision-making.
Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications)
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field.
• Experience in product development quality, design quality, validation, launch, field performance, or a related discipline.
• Experience solving complex technical or systemic problems using data and structured quality methods.
• Familiarity with automotive product development, vehicle systems, validation, manufacturing, or supplier quality.
• Experience with tools such as Excel, Power BI, SQL, Python/R, or equivalent analytics platforms.
• Working knowledge of FMEA, Design for Six Sigma, control plans, statistical process control, or related methods.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to influence technical and non-technical stakeholders without direct authority.
• A strong sense of ownership, urgency, resilience, and commitment to improving customer outcomes.
• A master’s degree, quality or operational excellence certification, experience with artificial intelligence or advanced analytics, and multilingual or regional experience are welcome additions.
