About the role
Carlisle Construction Materials (CCM) is one of Carlisle Companies’ (CSL) core segments, providing commercial roofing systems. CCM’s growth is central to CSL’s Vision 2030 ambition of doubling EPS to $40 – a goal that depends on step-change innovation, expansion into new addressable markets and a more systemized, value-add approach to the portfolio.
The Senior Strategy Manager – Commercial Roofing Products will lead business, portfolio, and go-to-market strategy for Carlisle’s commercial roofing product categories, including roofing membranes, insulation, and accessories. The role will focus on market choice, product and portfolio priorities, competitive positioning, pricing and value capture, launch execution, and commercial performance within the commercial roofing business. It will translate customer, channel, contractor, and competitive insights into category-specific growth strategies and repeatable go-to-market plans, partnering closely with Product Management, Sales, Marketing, R&D, Operations, and Finance. This is a high-accountability, high-visibility role: the strategic direction of the organization runs through the work this leader owns.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Commercial Roofing Portfolio Go-To-Market Strategy
• Own strategy for commercial roofing product categories, with primary emphasis on membranes, insulation, and accessories.
• Assess market segments, product-line performance, customer needs, channel dynamics, competitive positions, and strategic risks to establish category priorities.
• Develop fact-based recommendations using TAM/SAM sizing, pricing and mix analysis, financial modeling, customer insight, and competitive intelligence.
• Partner with Product Management and business leaders to define portfolio roles, product rationalization priorities, innovation needs, and investment choices.
• Support the Long-Range Plan by translating commercial roofing market opportunities into growth initiatives, financial assumptions, and resource requirements.
Business & Segment Strategy
• Support the development of Business/Segment Strategy – market choice, portfolio priorities, and competitive positioning – that feeds CCM's Long-Range Plan and enterprise strategy, building a consistently-owned, repeatable process.
• Conduct market, competitive, and customer analyses to identify growth opportunities, adjacencies, and strategic risks across segments.
• Partner with business leaders to develop, challenge, and refine segment strategies, prioritizing where CCM competes and invests.
• Build fact-based recommendations, leveraging TAM/SAM sizing, financial modeling, and market insights, that shape the Long-Range Plan and capital allocation decisions.
• Build compelling business cases and executive-ready presentations that influence senior leadership decision-making.
Cross-Functional Alignment & Governance
• Drive shared accountability across Sales, Marketing, R&D, and Product Management, integrating GTM milestones with Stage-Gate PDP governance and other operating models, owning the GTM metric framework and operating cadence that keeps execution on track.
• Establish and manage program governance, performance metrics, and decision-making frameworks that give leadership visibility into progress and outcomes.
• Lead cross-functional teams through planning, readiness, and launch – coordinating training, tools, and communications to ensure strategies land successfully in market.
• Serve as a trusted advisor to functional leaders, building alignment and influence in a matrixed organization without direct authority.
