About the role

About the Team New Verticals is an exciting team at DoorDash that is building and scaling new ways to delight our customers beyond restaurant delivery. Our Central Operations team, part of New Verticals Strategy & Operations, is re-inventing how consumers shop grocery, convenience, alcohol and retail by making every store’s digital shelf match the physical shelf. We do this by onboarding new data sources that improve selection coverage, price accuracy, inventory accuracy, and the location data that helps Dashers find the store and the item. When these get better, consumers see what they want at the right price and receive it with fewer substitutions and refunds, Dashers shop and navigate faster, and merchants sell more. You will partner with Product, Engineering, and Data Science to build AI-enabled tooling, launch operational processes at scale, own metrics, and pull operational and product levers across our Grocery, Convenience, Alcohol and Retail businesses. About the Role We are looking to hire a Manager to own how we onboard new data sources, external and internal, onto our ecosystem. Externally, you will bring on inventory and syndicated data providers, CPG branded data, in-store robotics companies, and other software and technology partners. Internally, you will find new ways to leverage the data we already have. Together, these sources align the physical inventory of brick-and-mortar stores with the digital inventory. You will also explore how these assets could grow into an inventory-as-a-service solution. You will partner with Machine Learning, Engineering, Product, Data Science, and Commercial teams. You will sit in the Central Operations group within our New Verticals Strategy & Operations organization and report into a Senior Manager. You will manage a team of two. You’re excited about this opportunity because you will… • Build from zero. You’ll take new data sources from ideation to production: sizing opportunities, structuring partnerships, running pilots, and scaling the winners across Convenience, Grocery, Alcohol, and Retail. • Think big. You’ll imagine what’s possible with new sources and new commercial models, including inventory as a service, and turn bold ideas into roadmaps. • Close the physical-digital gap. You’ll connect real-world signals from retailers, syndicated data, CPGs, robots, and software partners to improve selection coverage, price accuracy, inventory accuracy, and Dasher navigation. • Own the economics. You’ll define the commercial and business metrics that show when a source works and when it doesn’t, and weigh the lift against the cost to make clear scale, iterate, or stop decisions. • Lead. You’ll partner with Engineers, Data Scientists, Product Managers, and Commercial teams to integrate sources and drive measurable impact. We’re excited about you because… • You think 0 to 1. You’re energized by ambiguity, think boldly and unconstrained about what new sources could unlock, and resist “this is how it’s always been done” thinking. • You’re creative about business models. You can see how data becomes a product, and help shape the strategy behind it. • You understand the interplay of commercial and business metrics. You know how selection, price, and inventory accuracy translate into conversion, retention, and cost, and you can tell when a data source is worth what it costs. • You’re analytical. You can extract and communicate meaningful insights from data to drive strategic decisions, and you are comfortable with SQL and data visualization tools. • You’re an operator and a partner. You’re comfortable in the details of data quality and store-level operations, and you can build and negotiate relationships with external vendors, CPGs, and technology companies. • You have 6-8+ ye
