About the role
The Robotics & Mechatronics Teams at Agile Robots are looking for a Mechatronics and Hardware Test Engineer (m/f/d) , who will design and build the test setups and fixtures used to qualify robot prototypes for development. You will help close the loop between test results and design fixes, working with the engineering and production teams that build the robot. Responsibilities • Test Fixtures: Design and build the mechatronic test setups and fixtures used to validate robot prototypes and subassemblies through development, certification, and production. • Test Execution: Run tests, evaluate and analyze the results, and share findings with the wider engineering team. • Documentation: Create and maintain documentation for test procedures and results. • Process Improvement: Identify and implement improvements to existing test procedures to increase efficiency and reliability. • Root Cause Analysis: Investigate product-related quality issues to determine their root cause. • Production Support: Support the production team in troubleshooting and resolving test-related issues. Essential Skills • Background: Degree in mechanical engineering or a related technical field. • Mechatronic Testing: Industry experience testing, verifying, and analyzing mechatronic systems. • Mechanical Design: Experience in mechanical design, including test benches and fixtures, using tools such as SolidWorks, 3DEXPERIENCE, or PDM software. • Lab Work: Hands-on mechanical lab experience, such as drilling and assembly. • Sensor Familiarity: Familiarity with sensor applications such as force and torque sensors. Beneficial Skills • Test Automation: Experience automating test benches and robotic systems, for example using Python or PLC programming. • Automation Interfaces: Familiarity with embedded and industrial communication interfaces such as CAN, SPI, OPC UA, or EtherCAT, and the Linux/Unix environments (e.g., Bash) used to work with them. • Quality Tools: Experience with requirements management and quality management tools such as Jama or SAP. • German Language: German language proficiency for collaborating with site-based teams. • Driving License: Valid driving license.
