About the role
Job Description Field Work Arrangement This is a field-based position with a remote work arrangement that requires up to 50% travel within the assigned territory on a recurring basis. The selected candidate must currently reside within the territory or be willing to relocate to Memphis, TN, or a surrounding area approved by leadership within 60 days of the start date. The Role As National Account Manager, you will own the relationship and business results for AutoZone while helping shape the growth of GM’s ACDelco business. This is a highly visible assignment that provides broad exposure across customer strategy, sales growth, pricing, product expansion, supply chain, and financial performance. You will work across Sales, Finance, Supply Chain, Product, Cataloging, and Marketing to turn complex customer needs into practical, measurable business results. This is not a role with a ready-made playbook . Success requires strong commercial judgment, comfort navigating ambiguity, the ability to influence without direct authority, and ownership of complex issues from identification through resolution. For someone energized by challenging customer dynamics and broad business ownership, this role provides an opportunity to strengthen end-to-end business acumen while directly influencing sales, margin, service, and customer outcomes. What You’ll Do • Own the administration, negotiation, and renewal of vendor agreements between GM and AutoZone while maintaining a consistent headquarters-level business cadence. • Deliver sales and growth objectives by expanding products and stock-keeping units within the account. • Lead quarterly business reviews, line reviews, and action plans that establish accountability and maintain momentum. • Partner with AutoZone on marketing, promotional, and other growth initiatives. • Analyze sales, margin, inventory, and customer insights to recommend assortment, pricing, and promotional actions. • Coordinate supply chain forecasts for product launches, line expansions, and promotions. • Partner with Finance to develop and implement product pricing while evaluating trade-offs across sales, margin, and service. • Resolve back-orders, past-due orders, pricing issues, claims, returns, deductions, and fines; manage promotional and return reserve budgets and related policy adjustments. • Lead new-product setup and supersession activities. • Apply knowledge of the aftermarket, competitors, ACDelco bulletins, automotive systems, product lines, and sales programs to guide account decisions while leading through GM’s core values and cultural priorities. Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications) • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Sales, Operations, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience. • 3+ years of experience managing national or key accounts, including vendor-agreement negotiation, pricing or supply issue resolution, and sales and margin growth. • A demonstrated record of meeting or exceeding sales and growth targets in a customer-facing role. • At least one year of experience using the IMS system, including running reports and supporting account workflows such as pricing, order status, and part release. • Ability to analyze sales, margin, and inventory trends and translate insights into account actions. • Proficiency with Microsoft Suite and Google Workplace. • Ability to travel up to 50%, including overnight travel, as required. • Must possess and maintain the ability to legally operate a motor vehicle in accordance with the licensing requirements of the states in which work is performed.
