About the role
The Test Engineer is directly responsible for the technical reliability, performance, and continuous improvement of the assigned functional and/or vision test systems within the production area. The role ensures process stability, equipment availability, compliance with Bosch standards, and full ownership of defined KPIs (Relative Utilization – NuRel, False Rejects, Downtime, IDC (Scrap), and On-Time Task Completion). The Test Engineer leads structured problem-solving activities, validates and releases new products and test equipment, and ensures proper documentation, timely risk escalation, and effective knowledge transfer to guarantee operational continuity. The position drives measurable improvements in quality, product reliability, operational efficiency, and cost reduction, always prioritizing customer requirements and Voice of Customer topics. Strictly comply with all company compliance, ethics, and non-discrimination policies. Prioritize safety in all activities, ensuring safe conditions for operators, technicians, and any personnel interacting with assigned stations. Identify, contain, and eliminate safety risks or process deviations, escalating when required. Ensure and audit compliance with 5S methodology in production, administrative areas, and laboratories. Conduct Gemba walks to verify process stability, adherence to standards, and risk prevention. Ensure critical process parameters (torque, forces, cycle times, tolerances, etc.) are defined, documented, and controlled, complying with process directives and product VVT requirements. Guarantee proper functionality, calibration status, and technical availability of assigned process equipment. Confirm that process KPIs remain within established parameters: NuRel, false rejects, downtime, and scrap (IDC). Assist with structured problem-solving (PS) analysis. Monitor corrective and preventive maintenance, confirming the availability of spare parts and scheduled replacements. Keep technical documentation for process stations up to date. Develop basic troubleshooting documents (OPLs, Simple Fixes). Collaborate with other departments to ensure KPI performance. Complete all required training.
